1. Where can I fit natural flooring in my home?

Natural flooring is by its very nature NATURAL and reacts in areas of high moisture and heat. Excessive dampness may occasionally cause shrinkage or mould so we do not recommend any of our products, except 100% wool range, for bathrooms or kitchens.

Jute is not hard wearing and should only be used in bedrooms or in rooms where there is light foot fall.

2. Which flooring is suitable for stairs?

We do not recommend Seagrass, Mountain Grass or large loop pile carpet for stairs. Please refer to our suitability giudelines at all times.

3. How natural is your natural flooring?

All of the floorcoverings are 100%natural. The fibres used in the company's rugs runners and fitted flooring are sourced form around the globe. Here are examples of the origin of our flooring:

Sisal is extracted from the leaves of a plant grown in tropical South American Climes.

Coir comes from the coconut husks found in the lush vegetation of Kerala , India .
Jute is made from the inner bark of the giant Cochurus plant grown in India .

Seagrass is grown in the tropical climates of China and Vietnam and is harvested by hand, dried and spun in to cords before being woven into flooring.

Our natural flooring has a natural latex backing and our wool products are backed with natural jute.

The Alternative Flooring Company

5. Do I need a special carpet fitter to fit natural flooring?
